OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
We are committed to stewardship of the natural resources needed to sustain our planet. Minimizing our impact on the environment is at the heart of our approach and we're consistently evaluating and changing our processes to be as eco-friendly as possible.
RAW MATERIALS

Wood
We follow strict guidelines to harvest eco-friendly wood pulp from sustainably managed forests using the 'track and trace' process. It’s then processed by a cutting-edge facility in an area where the wood processing industry is famed for its biodiversity and ecological safeguards.
Bamboo
Bamboo produces 35% more oxygen and absorbs twice as much carbon dioxide as a tree. Bamboo is extremely resilient and does not need harsh fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicides to grow and requires very little water compared to other plants. Its roots remain in the ground and expand, helping to prevent soil erosion, flooding, and extensive changes to the ecosystem.
Rice
Our rice is ethically sourced in the Camargue delta. It is natively grown in this wild, lush region of Southern France and responsibly harvested to make America's only real rice paper.
Hemp
OCB hemp is grown sustainably by a co-op of farmers in France. No part of the hemp plant is discarded. After the hemp straw is removed and made into fibers, the surplus (referred to as flax shives) is recycled and used for other purposes.
Flax
Flax has been used to make high quality paper since Ancient Egypt. Flax can grow up to 1 meter high and does not require any fertilizers.
Acacia Gum
Our Acacia gum is a natural sap that flows from the Acacia tree. Most of these trees grow naturally in the wild and are harvested by local farmers who collect the sap during dry season without damaging the tree. Learn more about how we help repopulate Acacia trees and how they sustain the local economy here.
ECO FRIENDLY PRACTICES

Green Energy
Our carbon-neutral facility in Perpignan, France, runs on renewable energy—hydropower, wind, solar, and biomass—while meeting the highest industry standards.
Clean Water
Our water treatment facility removes solids from the wastewater before cleaning it for safe return to the local waterways. The water is returned to Lac Léman 70% cleaner than regulations require.
Packaging
When possible, our packaging is made using recycled cardboard. It is biodegradable and engineered to be as compact as possible to eliminate paper waste.
Recycling
All unusable paper is returned to the paper mill and recycled to be made into more rolling paper.
Vegetable Inks
Our packaging has been printed with vegetable ink for several years. Vegetable inks are a more environmentally friendly alternative to petroleum-based inks.
ISO Certifications
Our facilities are internationally certified with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and are GMP certified, ensuring the best in quality and environmental responsibility.
